Half & Half
April 27-30, 1995 at Performance Space 122, NYC
Performed by: Jennifer Miller and Cathy Weis
Half & Half is a simple set-up: two people each stand in front of a live camera. Their images are bisected and recombined into a single image, a set up used in a number of works, including Dawn of the Magicians, A String of Lies, Doctor Doctor, and Monitor Lizards.
Weis often uses Half & Half when working with many different groups ranging from college students to hospice workers. Participants are so focused on the images they create outside of themselves, it's always a laugh.
