The 1995 performance event Cathy Weis & Friends was the precursor to Weis’ LIPS (Live Internet Performing Structure). Performers in Los Angeles, Prague and New York City joined together for this three-part evening of live performance, video imagery and Internet streaming.

The first section combines live improv with performers and audience members. The second section is live dance performance with live-streamed music. The third, a dance collaboration via the Internet with dancers in New York and Prague.
