April 30, 2017: Shared evening with Sally Silvers & Pooh Kaye and Sara Rudner, Jodi Melnick, & Vicky Shick
Three extraordinary choreographer-dancers—Sara Rudner, Vicky Shick and Jodi Melnick—will present their recent findings as a trio after decades of mutual admiration and support. Articulation, coordination, communication, and continuous practice will be on view.
Sally Silvers will conduct what she calls “live choreography”: making a new section of a dance from scratch in front of the audience—showing the seams of the rehearsal process and the collaborative interaction between performer and choreographer. Silvers, with dancers with whom she has never worked, will revel in some movement themes from her upcoming program at Roulette that combine the dark side of Hitchcock films and the riot side of Girl. The dancers participating are Martita Abril, Andrew Champlin, Alvara Gonzalez Dupuy, Breckyn Drescher, Reka Echerer ,Rebecca Hadley, Kyle Marshall, Anna Rogovoy, & Joshua Tucson. Silvers will also present a short improvisation with guest artist/choreographer Pooh Kaye.
All Sundays on Broadway events are free and open to the public.
All events begin at 6:00pm. Doors open at 5:45pm at WeisAcres, 537 Broadway, #3. There are no reservations. Seating is first come, first served. Keep in mind, this is a small space! Please arrive on time out of courtesy to the artists.
